About Us

The history of NGO “The Leader” began in the summer of 2022, during the implementation of the project “Women’s Leadership: On the Path to Ukraine’s Recovery” by the Alexandria Gender Information Center (Vazhlyva), supported by PACT. The project’s local coordinator, Oksana Kozlovska, formed a group of women and girls in Kremenchuk who needed help integrating into the community, restoring their psycho-emotional state, and developing personally.

After the project’s completion, on December 6, 2022, NGO “The Leader” (unfortunately, English does not currently convey feminine forms) was established to continue meeting the needs of women, IDPs, and overcoming the challenges caused by rf’s armed aggression.

The following year, 2023, was eventful and developmental. During the year, the organization formed a team that joined various projects: from providing humanitarian aid to organizing training on starting one’s own business. NGO “The Leader” became part of the IDP Council of the Kremenchuk City Council of the Kremenchuk district of the Poltava region and the IDP Council at the Kremenchuk district military (state) administration of the Poltava region.

NGO “The Leader” joined the working group and signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with institutions and organizations, their representatives, and individuals within the informal association “Coalition 1325 Poltava Region” (within the localization in the Poltava region of the UN Security Council Resolution 1325 “Women. Peace. Security” and the National Action Plan for its implementation).

Thanks to the support of the East Europe Foundation within the “Capable and Resistant” project and Switzerland, in March 2024, NGO “The Leader” held a strategic session and updated its mission, vision, goals, and more.
